Society of African Missions

INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

The I.D.O. Director
Fr Pat Kelly SMA

Finally, let me introduce myself …

My name is Fr Pat Kelly. I am from Belfast in Ireland and am a priest with the Society of African Missions since 1974. After ordination I worked as a missionary in Liberia in West Africa. I then spent seventeen years in Asia – five years in the Philippines followed by twelve years in India – helping to establish in both places new branches of the SMA to prepare and send Filipino and Indian missionary priests to Africa.

I am now heading our International Development Office to seek funding for the training of our new missionary priests from all the new branches of the SMA. My office is based in Tenafly, New Jersey, the headquarters of the American Province of the Society of African Missions.

I travel to different parts of the United States of America and to many parts of Europe looking for donors. I am happy to speak to any groups about our work and will consider all invitations. My main work is to meet those people who share our vision of spreading the Gospel and who are willing to make a donation to this work (perhaps even one day's salary) every year on their birthday.

e-mail me!
